Beauty Philosophy: Live in the moment.

Beauty Musthave: I constantly apply Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant on my lips—it helps prevent dryness better than a lip balm. I’ve discovered that it even soothes small burns—they don’t scab as much. I don’t travel without it.

Beauty Ritual: I crave make-up-free skin at the end of the day. The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Cleanser and Clarins Instant Eye Make-up Remover are great to get heavy make-up off. I also use an under-eye moisturiser and night cream by Elizabeth Arden before bed.

Salon Style: Blow-drying isn’t for me—I don’t like my hair to be straight. After washing it, I towel-dry and scrunch it up. If I want waves, I put in some mousse and let it air-dry.

Traveller Tips: It’s important to drink lots of water and keep skin moisturised. Instead of washing my face with water, I keep misting on L’Occitane’s Angelica Face Toner to refresh my skin.

Vanity Case: M.A.C’s blush in Desert Rose and lipstick in Satin—it’s a gorgeous, rusty shade. I also adore Siahi, the ink-blue eyeliner from Mickey Contractor’s collection for M.A.C.

Personal Style: I’m partial to the bohemian look— lots of layering and experimenting with colours. My favourite pairing right now is a knee-length teal dress with a grey Rajesh Pratap Singh organza shirt.

Heaven Scent: Davidoff Cool Water during the day, Angel by Thierry Mugler at night and Chanel No. 5 for special occasions.

Signature Look: I wear a lot of midnight-blue or dark green eyeliner instead of black, and I like pop lips in matte neon shades— orange looks great on my skin. It’s a cool look when paired with a solid coloured dress and a black jacket.

Hair Secret: My hair tends to get quite dry and frizzy with all the products that are used on it when I’m shooting. I try and get regular nourishing hair treatments by Kérastase to smoothen my hair and undo any damage. Oil massages are actually more relaxing for me, but these treatments work from the root to the tip and don’t just focus on the scalp, which the massage tends to do.

Home Recipe: Grind up oats to make a grainy powder and mix it with honey. Use it as a scrub, leaving it on the face for a few minutes. It exfoliates quite well and the honey nourishes dry skin.

Diet Discipline: I don’t really follow a diet plan but I make sure I have a high-protein breakfast, which usually includes eggs. I’m quite a foodie, and don’t really count calories. South Indian food is delicious—it’s actually quite healthy with all those fresh vegetables— and when travelling I keep an eye out for good Thai food.

Fitness Files: I don’t work out a lot, but when I do, there’s nothing better than exercising outdoors. I go up to my terrace some mornings to do surya namaskar and enjoy the sun. I also enjoy running in the park while listening to music— right now I’m into indie rock bands like the Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine and Mumford & Sons. My favourite tracks to run to are ‘We Are The People’ by Empire Of The Sun, ‘Best Of You’ by Foo Fighters and ‘Chelsea Dagger’ by The Fratellis.

Beauty Icon: My mother, for her impeccable style and love for Kanjeevaram saris, and Indrani Dasgupta and Gisele Bündchen, who always look fantastic.
